COVID-19, all the time

I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but you knew it was coming: Shutdown 2.0, 2021 edition.
Calls for shutting down the economy are rising to the top of the old news heap, as Texas & Florida now account for one-third of all new COVID cases, mask mandates are popping up everywhere, and many companies are now beginning to require that their employees get a vaccine or lose their job.
And I'm fine with that!
In other news, people with COVID are dumber than their non-COVID-getting brethren. Who couldn't see that one coming?
If you haven't been vaccinated now (because you're not willing to and because you "have an immune system"), you are STOOPID.
But an actual study has found that long COVID is affecting IQ. And not in a good way.

The long-term effect of a Covid-19 infection could include a drop in intelligence, according to new research.
Between January and December last year, scientists conducted the Great British Intelligence Test that examined the IQ of 81,337 people.
Among that number were 13,000 who had been infected with the virus.
Once the scientists had factored out things like age, sex, language and education level, they found people recovering from Covid saw the biggest decline.
Tasks requiring problem solving, planning and reasoning were harder for them than for people who hadn’t had the virus.
In the worst cases, when people had been on a ventilator to beat the disease, the researchers recorded a seven-point drop in intelligence.
Get vaccinated. At least you will have a chance on not getting a severe case of COVID-19.
