Islam emphasizes the importance of charity, with zakat (charity) being one of the five pillars of our religion. The Quran states in Surah Al-Hadid, verse 18, “For those who give in charity, men and women, and loan to Allah a beautiful loan, it shall be increased manifold (to their credit), and they shall have (besides) a liberal reward.” Join us, and @uconnhrt.artclub, @uconnpremedh, @uconn.prehealth, and @uconnbp, in our efforts to help support our brothers and sisters in Pakistan.

The sunnah of fasting on the white days is one with so much rewards that we wanted to share it with all of you and we hope you will join us.
The White Days or Ayyam al-Bid (Arabic: ایّام البیض) are specific days of each Islamic month; these days are the 13th, 14th and 15th of every month in the Islamic calendar. The Messenger ﷺ recommended fasting three days of every month as fasting is not just an action, it is the abandonment of certain actions/pleasures for the sake of Allah and it shows faith and sincerity. It is also training on being detached from the attachments of this temporary world, and being attached to Allah alone. On the authority of ’Abdul-Malik (rA) who narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to fast these Three Days, saying, ‘They are (equivalent to) fasting the whole month’. This means that fasting each day is equal to the reward of fasting for 10 days, thus fasting all 3 days is equal to the reward of fasting for 30 days. If this is repeated every month, then, as the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ stated, this will be as if one is fasting perpetually. Join us in fasting, starting tomorrow inshaAllah! ☺️
