The ending of a drought?

Hi praying friends,
Some of you have been getting our prayer letter for years, so this theme might be something you have heard before!
At the beginning of the summer, we had 41 days with no measurable rain. It raised all sorts of conversations in Berlin again about the drought we had been experiencing. Over the last month, we have had SO much rain. We have been telling teams that what we are experiencing is not a typical German summer! The newspapers have been asking lately, "Is the drought finally over?"
That is a question we keep asking spiritually, as well. Is the drought over? We are coming across more people who are planting churches in Weißensee, the neighborhood we have our ministry center. Recently, I met with a couple of members of one of those teams. They dream of seeing a "point of light" on every street in our community. One of them had walked by our space and said, "Something about this space feels like a point of Light. Something feels Christian."
Is a spiritual season of rain about to begin in our community? Pray that it happens!!
Some other prayer requests:
- Our last team for the summer is finishing up today. I will be taking them to the airport early tomorrow. Pray for safe travel.
- We have several visits to our site from other Envision sites, the Envision National Office, and some youth workers from the US in the coming months. Pray for those to go well!
- Some interns are transitioning back to the US in the next several weeks. Please pray for those transitions. Some new interns are also coming in September.
- Caleb is getting settled into his new apartment. He headed to Norway with some friends for part of this week - pray for him to enjoy a bit of a break before returning to finish studying for his finals.
- Josh has just about finished year 1 of 3 of his apprenticeship. Starting year 2 comes with a bit of a pay bump for him - and more responsibilities. Pray for the increased work and learning load!
- As our team season ends, we will be stepping back into some of our site ministries that we park a little during the summer. Pray for us as we ramp those back up!
Thanks for praying!
