Open Table, Exhibits, and why is broken internet so frustrating??

Hi praying friends!

The internet in one of our office spaces has been causing problems all week. It's crazy how much my life relies on having good internet access to function. I have spent way too many hours trying to troubleshoot our various connections (and running into more problems). I finally got a new router coming from the phone company. I am hoping that works!

It's one of those crazy things - how in the middle of some times that are really stressful, one more thing just seems to put me right on the edge. Being without internet is really NOT the end of the world. Being without internet and having heavy fundraising responsibilities and trying to coordinate the details of upcoming short-term teams and multiple art exhibits is stressful, but I know that the way it was impacting me (not just my tasks) this week is a reflection of some stressful weeks behind me (and ahead of us.) Thanks for you ongoing prayers!

As the Alliance has shifted its giving platforms, there are new links for giving (that I shared last week!) That means that the video we pushed out with a QR code a couple of weeks ago has a link that doesn't work anymore. So, here is a replacement of that video:

Same great content! New QR code at the end.

We have some big events this week at our site. Tonight we are hosting our "Open Table" event. Pray for this growing community as people come together and we share a meal.

Tomorrow, we are opening a new exhibit from a German artist named Sandra Stops. Please pray for that!

On Saturday some long-time friends of Envision Berlin are hosting a monthly "Drawing and Coffee" event in our space.

On Sunday, we are hosting a time where we come together as a community and interact with a passage of scripture. I'd call it a church service, but when we do that, certain forms of gathering come to mind, and that's not necessarily what happens - but it is one of the monthly gatherings we have that is more faith-forward, and part of being sure the community we are building has places where people are also invited to engage in faith.

Some closing prayer requests:

  1. Caleb's bacherlor's thesis is due on Friday. Pray for him as he finishes this week!
  2. Pray for our internet to be restored at the office!
  3. Pray for our ongoing fundraising.
  4. Pray for our exhibits and the community of artists and art-interested people who are becoming regulars at our events.
  5. Please also pray for my mom - she has a really serious surgery next week on a broken arm that is not healing well (it's a longer story, but God knows the details!)

Blessings,

mike
