The rain, Caleb's Visa, Team

Hi Praying Friends,

Thank you for praying for rain! It has finally rained in Berlin - after 40 days of no rain, we have gotten rain several times in the last week, including a thunderstorm and a long night of rain last night.

Our son Caleb recently had a visa appointment and received an extension on his temporary visa (through January), so the lady in the office can put through his application as a request for permanent residency. This is absolutely amazing. He can finish his studies and work in Germany if he wants to. He will never need to apply for a visa again unless he leaves the country for more than 6 months!

Our time with this short-term team has been full! They leave on Sunday, and the next team arrives on July 2nd. We do not have a lot of time between, so please pray for us as we have staff who are attending an Alliance World Fellowship event, some on vacation, and others preparing for vacation.

One of the interesting challenges from the team we currently have on the ground is the intercultural nature of the team, and navigating their interaction with intercultural ministry and interpretations of practices we have at our site. It has been great for us to grow and stretch in ways we encourage other people to grow and stretch! Putting into practice what you are teaching can be a challenge sometimes.

What is the most recent experience you have had of recognizing that it is easier to talk about something than it is to put it into practice?

Here are some prayer requests for the coming week:

  1. Pray for Joshua to get over a cold he has come down with.
  2. I am translating for a wedding tomorrow - please pray for clarity of thought and speech!
  3. Elissa will be traveling to visit some friends in England next week. Pray for safe travel!
  4. Pray for next week to be recharging for our team, as we prepare to host another short-term team with only a little bit of time.

Thanks for your prayers!

mike
