Normal and Extraordinary Events

Dear Praying Friends,
This week we have some exciting events on our calendar! Some of them are part of our new "normal" - our once-a-month discussion evening (called a salon) will be taking place tonight. Our theme this evening is "Propaganda and Trust: Trust in an Era of Propaganda." The leading questions are: "Has the constant use of propaganda made us more susceptible to mistruths?" and "How can we increase people's ability to focus on things that require deep thought and contemplation?" We always try to use themes that give us leaping-off points to discuss issues of faith, so please pray for our event tonight!
An extraordinary event that we have this week is our "Pre-Launch Event" for the first book that we are publishing (although the Jones have published books before) - "Tulips and Ashes." One of our Residents handed out flyers and posters yesterday - and there is a lot of community interest in our book! Our pre-release event is on the 2-year anniversary of Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Pray for us as we engage with our community on Saturday.
On Sunday, several of our Envision Berlin team members are leading worship for our once-a-month larger house church gathering. Pray for us as our churches come together.
Friends, Elissa's back continues not to be doing well. There have been some improvements, but not as many she had hoped for. Much of her day continues to be filled with either head or back pain. Can you please pray for relief?
Some other requests:
- Publishing a book in a foreign country is challenging! Can you pray for us as we continue to discover new things we need to do? Pray for wisdom and efficiency.
- Our office building was built in the 80's in former East Berlin - and apparently the pipes that were installed used low-grade materials. All the pipes in the building are slowly being replaced. We are dealing with a lot of noise - and this is before they get to our office space! Please pray for us to be able to concentrate as we do our work.
- Pray for the book we are releasing to give us lots of Kingdom opportunities in the coming months. Our author, Ira, uses the Bible throughout her writing, and we are excited to see if this gives us opportunities to have conversations on a deeper level.
Thanks for your prayers!
