Since we just celebrated the 109th running of the Indy 500 last weekend, here is a great story on how Lotus blossomed at the famed brickyard. "Colin Chapman, his interest piqued by a new engineering challenge and the six-figure riches on offer at IMS, sent Clark and a Lotus 25 to the Speedway on a fact-finding mission following the U.S. GP at Watkins Glen. Armed now with a little experience as well as talent, Chapman and Len Terry set to work on a Lotus Indy car."
