Hi ,
Big things are happening at Motorsport Prospects-and I want you to be part of them.
I'm excited to announce that I'm beginning to release the first members of the new Verified by Motorsport Prospects (VMP) program. The initial group includes 26 experienced motorsport professionals who have been selected for their expertise and are available to help you take the next step in your motorsport journey.
Need help with sponsorship, media relations, driver coaching, physical or mental conditioning, management or other aspects of your career? The VMP program is designed to make finding the right professional easier-and give you greater confidence that you're getting advice from someone who understands motorsport.
And this is only the beginning.
I'm now developing the Motorsport Prospects Driver Network (MPDN) as a companion to VMP. The vision is to build a network specifically for committed, career-focused drivers who are serious about developing their careers and connecting with the people who can help them succeed.
What would you want from a network like MPDN? This is your opportunity to help shape it. Reply to this email and tell me what you would find most valuable-from access to professionals and advice to networking, opportunities and resources.
And, of course, there's plenty of News Racers Can Use this week. One of my favourite pieces of advice from last week came from Motorsport Prospects podcast guest Lewis Paris, who explains why fitness is just as important for sim racers as it is for drivers competing on track. The interview also dovetails neatly into tips on sim training for real-world track drivers.
Read on for this, the latest driver-related motorsport news, and more resources to help you move your racing career forward.
Championship Standings Don't Always Show Driver Development
Driver development is about far more than where a driver finishes in the championship standings. A driver's progression can be better understood by looking at factors such as consistency, racecraft, adaptability and improvement over the course of a season-especially when drivers have had very different levels of experience, equipment and opportunity. The Last Lap
The pursuit of speed has always been one of motorsport's great drivers of innovation. In 1935, Auto Union pushed that pursuit to the extreme when Hans Stuck took its streamlined Rennlimousine to a measured 326.975 km/h on an Italian autostrada near Lucca. More than 90 years later, Audi Tradition has recreated the remarkable car from historical records and brought it back into the Silver Arrow family.
This fascinating story offers a glimpse into the engineering, competition and relentless development behind one of motorsport's earliest battles for outright speed-and shows how lessons in aerodynamics and lightweight construction were already shaping racing technology in the 1930s.
To your success on track and off!
