Hi ,
Motorsport Prospects exists for one reason: to help self-funded drivers find the right people and make smarter decisions on the road to the grid, or just to the next track day.
To stay true to that, I’m making some changes starting this week.
What’s changing:
The Business of Motorsport Roundup is being retired. General industry news is widely covered elsewhere. The sponsorship stories that matter to drivers are moving into a new section of The Business of Being a Race Driver, and drive and seat opportunities are moving into the Racecraft & Race Cars Roundup.
The Sustainable Motorsport Roundup is becoming a quarterly review. Instead of a weekly roundup, I’ll publish Sustainability & the Self-Funded Driver once a quarter. It will cover costs, sponsorship and the professionals leading the way, rather than general news.
What’s staying every week:
Driver Development Roundup: coaching, fitness, mental performance and the tools that make you faster.
The Business of Being a Race Driver: sponsorship, branding and media, now with a short Sponsor Watch section on the sponsorship deals worth learning from.
Racecraft & Race Cars Roundup: racecraft advice, series news, and racing, testing and seat opportunities.
Sim Racing Roundup: how sim racing can launch or sharpen a real-world career.
Every roundup will still be on the blog and in your inbox as you are a newsletter subscriber.
What’s new:
A weekly Verified Pro Spotlight. Each week starting in January 2027, one of the roundups will feature a professional who has passed the Verified by Motorsport Prospects due-diligence process. The other roundups will carry a quick “Also verified” mention, so you’ll always have a trusted name to look into.
A quarterly sustainability review (see above), with its own spotlight.
What about the old posts? Every past article stays online and searchable. Nothing is being deleted.

Quote of the Week
“It’s not about how fast you go. It’s about how long you go fast.” – Ryan Thomson, Speech at a sports conference (2015)
The Week Ahead
For self-funded race drivers, building a career takes more than speed. It takes money, connections and smart decisions. My goal is to help you navigate those challenges by making sure there's some News Racers Can Use in every post and podcast episode I publish.
You'll see this especially in my Business of Being a Race Driver features, where I explore the different ways drivers have raised sponsorship, funded their racing and pursued career opportunities. More importantly, I break down what you can learn from their experiences and how you might apply those ideas to your own racing journey.
The week ahead is no different. I'll be looking at everything from how to raise a budget for GT racing to what you should consider before hiring a driver manager. If you're funding your own racing career, these are the kinds of insights that can help you make better decisions, find new opportunities and get closer to your goals. And that's just the beginning!
To your success on track and off!
