[WORKSHOP] Ready to start asking for (and receiving) what you need?

👀 A parent-friendly business note from Amy...

I’m going to say something most people won’t tell you:

Parenthood and career growth don't have to be mutually exclusive...BUT you do need a different approach.

I'm hosting another series of FREE online workshops all about this topic, the session will be spent sharing three of my strategies for showing up as a parent in professional settings and pursuing career opportunities.

While also designing a life that works for you AND your family in under 30 hours per week, working with your current reality, skills and the time you have. No $10K months slides, this is about energy management, building self-trust and taking aligned action, without feeling like you need to hide your identity and personal values as a parent.

Pick a date and join us live:

  • TODAY Tuesday October 28th at 1 PM (ET) - RSVP HERE
  • Wednesday November 5th at 11:30 AM (ET) - RSVP HERE
  • Wednesday November 12th at 1 PM (ET) - RSVP HERE

I've had great feedback from attendees so far! Get ready to experience mindset shifts, a different perspective and behaviour changes you can get started with testing out straight away. Implemented and experimented with by me, pre-parenthood and for all three of our kids across multiple industries and services based roles.

Babies and kids always welcome, camera on or off, live attendees will also receive a remote work with kids bonus checklist.

🚼📊STARTUP STORY TIME:

Last week was a prime example of that: I was asked to exhibit at the Startup Canada Tour stop in Mississauga.

I didn't know how I would make it happen (childcare for three kids, an event in another city five hours away, I can't drive for long periods, collateral to be designed and printed, supplies to be sourced) but I said yes.

I'm glad I did as I met soooo many wonderful parents, people working to support and provide more inclusive programming, resources and experiences for people pursuing entrepreneurship, startup and small business life.

The whole booth setup process was completed over a few days, stored in a suitcase and we crossed our fingers for a room cancelation the night of the event, as the hotel was booked out.

AND then, while I was slowly packing up my booth supplies, I was one of the final people to leave the exhibitor area and then this happened:

The interim CEO of Startup Canada, Jenn Juby, approached my table to introduce me to Ontario's Associate Minister for Small Business the Honourable Nina Tangri (that's me in the middle top right photo).

I literally had a ball of guerilla tape (like duct tape) in my hand, while I explained my work to her, the concept behind Mixing Babies And Business and the baby change facilities recently installed in political spaces like Parliament Hill in Ottawa, over the past few years.

Her assistant asked for a photo with me and next thing I knew, I was on social media tagged with the CEO of Startup Canada and Minister Tangri. I still was holding the ball of tape during the photoshoot, which I hid behind my back! 😂

I have more to say about this event and overall experience but for now, here's a quick video recap for you.

And an Autumn in Eastern Ontario road trip video with special mentions to all of the inhibitions I've lost over the past decade as a parent.

From being a hyper independent woman and slow traveling digital nomad living out of suitcases, to a mum of three kids babywearing public speaker, DIY podcast host, producer and promoter, event manager and winger of most things in life...

To now needing more help, it's been a different experience for me. I can no longer DIY everything, push through, carry the load or hustle harder.

Over the past nine years of parenthood I've lost my fears of public speaking, being visibile, making mistakes, moving (again), being perceived as 'too much' and asking for help.

Doing it all alone, people pleasing, downplaying your needs, avoiding setting boundaries and taking life too seriously are overrated.

Now over to you...what brought you here?

Why do you want to mix babies and business?

Anything you're losing your inhibitions over lately?

Reply and let me know!

If you’re like most parents I’ve spoken with over the past decade, it’s because you desire to design a life that works for you AND your family.

I'm producing and sharing things to meet you where you are to prepare for the future of work and the corporate leaders I met last week are ready, willing and open to hearing my ideas to better serve parents.

As part of my goals to reach a larger number of parents and primary caregivers, I’m delivering these free online and up-to-date for the times we're living in sessions over the coming months. You'll also find free resources here: mixingbabiesandbusiness.com/free-resources

Hope to see you online soon!🌞Have a great start to your week...here's to starting with what you have and figuring it out as you go (even if it's messy),
