1 IDEA FROM ME
As much as my subject heading may be true for some, Valentine's day definitely focuses on the concept of Love in our Lives.
Before I get all deep I would love to say "Happy Valentine's Day!"
For me this is an opportunity to spend time with Loved ones or at least spend time to invest heavily in self-care.
As we are in lockdown, it may not require us to do anything too elaborate, but we can be creative.
Don't make the excuse of lockdown or singledom an opportunity not to do anything. I would love for you to feel loved today, romantically or not because you deserve it all!
Having that moment to realise you are worth love is a powerful space to be in, and when you hold that space, you'll be kinder to yourself.
If no one else is going to say it, I will: I Love you very much and I believe you have greatness within you. Enjoy the rest of your day ❤️

1 BOOK RECOMMENDATION FROM ME
The 5 Love Languages: The Secret to Love That Lasts - Gary Chapman
I'm sure you have heard of this book, or at least heard of the love languages.
I remember when I applied this model at a time when I felt like communication could be improved between myself and my partner.
I was in total shock when it worked because I was like: "What kind of Juju is this?" It was too good to be true.
Now of course you have to habituate yourself to the standards set out in the book, but it works. To remind you of the love languages here they are:
- Words of affirmation
- Quality time
- Receiving gifts
- Acts of service
- Physical touch
Now, we usually associate with 2 strong languages, and they are also broken down into sub-categories as well.
However, I would love to ask you the following questions:
- Which languages do you relate to and why?
- Which languages do you think your partner relates to and why?
- Which languages do family members relate to and why?
Love languages go beyond romantic relationships, they delve deep into our social fabric. If you have only heard of the concept but have not read the book, then this is a chance to get educated on the topic and give cupid a break!
