Hello !
I hope, during this Advent season, you are hearing the Father's invitation go out to you every day as He calls you to experience His peace.
Peace is a "fruit of the Spirit" which means that it appears in your life when you are following the Holy Spirit's leadership.
It can be difficult to hear the Lord's voice during the hustle and bustle leading up to the holidays, but I want to encourage you to take frequent pauses, give everyone and everything to Him, and give yourself permission to be at peace.
So, here's a quick checklist of questions inspired by Sunday's message. It's meant to help you gauge if you're moving closer to, or further away from, peace.
Am I walking in righteousness in all areas? Remember, righteousness and peace go hand in hand. Where might you be making moral compromises? Those gray areas have a way of chipping away at your peace, so seek to please the Lord in all you do.
Am I giving fear a voice? Asking a trusted friend to pray for you is one thing, but sharing your concerns with too many people only multiplies their negative effect on your peace. The more you talk about them, the louder they rattle your soul.
Am I walking with God daily (or most days)? Time spent in God's presence is more valuable than anything else. Am I in the news more than in the Word? Do I prioritize entertainment over prayer? If you answered yes to either of these, you may be headed toward a lack of peace. There's no better place in the world than in His presence.
I hope you're accepting God's daily invitation to hope and peace. His offer is life abundant.
