Hello !
I hope you're enjoying this beautifully early autumn week.
Question: have you ever believed something that ended up being more harmful than good?
Maybe you believed that being a "Lone Ranger" meant you were strong, independent and a little better than all those people that enlisted the help of others. And, maybe, you later learned that life is better when it's lived in community (like God intended).
Or maybe you believed that all those "fat free" foods were good for you, only to discover that they were actually really unhealthy.
Well, there are actually some "Christian" beliefs that can be harmful too.
It's true.
Sometimes we hear things in church, sometimes a pithy saying that an old saint likes to throw around, and sometimes it's our own incorrect interpretation of scripture.
But those beliefs can be toxic to our soul, feeling good to say in the moment, but bringing dire consequences.
Well, this Sunday we're starting a two-part series on toxic Christian beliefs. I believe these messages are going to free people from a lot of frustration, exhaustion, and feelings of failure.
I really hope to see you there. Take notes!
You rock.
See you Sunday!
