Hello !
Sunday's 10th birthday service was great! It was wonderful to have cake, give away some gifts, and worship together.
During the message, Wendy talked about how Jesus stopped, noticed the condition of people, and ministered to them then and there.
It was a challenge to me, and a reminder to reduce distractions, be present in the moment, and engage in Kingdom opportunities.
There's something incredible about being present in the moment, as Jesus was.
It brings greater peace, as it keeps our minds on the here and now, rather than all the things going on in the world that we are powerless to do anything about. That'll reduce some anxiety!
It helps us to see the needs of others. That's what I mean by Kingdom opportunities. That's where we get to be the hands and feet of Jesus, bringing healing and hope to hurting people.
It helps us to grow. Without distractions, our internal condition is more favorable to process what we've learned, give thought to why we responded to a circumstance the way we did, and carry on an internal dialog with the Lord.
So, I want to encourage you to enjoy your week with fewer distractions, and more presence. Check your phone less often, and don't be in a hurry when you're running errands or spending time with other people.
Be in the moment, and try to see it with the eyes of Jesus. You might be surprised by what you see!
You rock.
See you Sunday!
