Hello !
On Sunday, we talked about how the devil uses lies to keep us from living as God created us to.
We talked about things we can do to break the shackles of those lies, but I thought I'd leave you with three questions that you can ask yourself when those negative thoughts and feelings (which are often caused by lies and false beliefs) weigh you down.
First, "Why am I feeling the way that I do?" Sometimes we get depressed, anxious, feel rejected, or wounded. However, sometimes, those feelings do not align with the evidence. Heck, just last night, I was depressed, and it turned out that I just needed a good night's sleep! Ask yourself why your emotions are where they are. You might be accepting a lie just because you're hungry, or traffic was bad.
Second, "What does God's word say about me?" Remember, God calls you His. He calls you favored, righteous, empowered, and more than a conqueror. Declare over yourself what His word says!
Third, "What does God's word say about the other person?" Sometimes the lie comes as a judgement over another person. We criticize, assume the worst, and presume to know what another person is thinking. But the grace God has given us, He's given to them too. And so should we! Don't accept a lie about another, even if they're not your favorite.
Remember, the devil's native language is lying. Put those negative beliefs to the test, and don't let those falsehoods get the best of you.
You rock.
See you Sunday!
