First, IT'S GREAT TO BE BACK! It was wonderful to worship with you on Sunday, continue going through 2nd Corinthians, and get prayer!
My family and I had a great (but interesting) vacation. It started with riots in my hometown, moved on to four-wheeling in Missouri, included a bunch of long-neglected yard work, and ended with some good old-fashioned napping.
But there's nothing like being a part of the Mercy Vineyard Church family. I missed you!
Now that we're back, I wanted to apologize to our online church tribe. For the past two Sundays, the stream has been terrible. We have checked all of our hardware and software, made sure everything is up-to-date, and checked all of our cables. We even ran tests to a private Facebook group, and found our test streams to work just fine.
What we discovered is that Mediacom is throttling our upload speeds way back during church. It could be that so many churches are now streaming on Sunday mornings that it's causing prohibitive amounts of congestion on Mediacom's ancient miles of coax cable draped across the city. Or, they could be trying to shoehorn us into a more expensive plan.
Whatever the case, we're committed to making it great!
In the meantime, could you please help us out in this area by praying?
Since March, taking the church online has consumed vast amounts of money, time, people resources (a whole new ministry team), and patience. It is extremely disheartening to invest in something so dearly only to have our efforts frustrated by our internet carrier. Please pray for Mercy Vineyard, keep participating, keep engaging. It helps me know you're still with us, even though we're socially distant.
