Hi Dear Readers!

I hope you're still well and staying safe. The Maslow household is enjoying the warmer weather. The flowers are blooming, I'm digging my summer clothes out of storage, and I'm getting outside as much as possible. I even went running this week (something I do NOT do in the winter because I'm a huge wimp). DC gets HOT and HUMID in the summer, so I'm enjoying the mild weather while I can.

Why Rumplestiltskin? Rumpelstiltskin at first glance does not seem like a romance. Well, when I get ahold of it, I turn up the romance and the heat. It's a little grittier with higher heat, and it's slightly shorter (60K *gasp*) than my usual, but I promise it still satisfies. And you all know I LOVE a challenge . . . and a twist.

My blurb for The Demon's in the Details:

Can a sexy demon really spin straw into gold?

Poe Dupin, raven shifter and thief extraordinaire, is in trouble with a capital ‘T.’ Not only did he get his wing caught in the cookie jar during his latest heist, but his bum of a stepdad, the alpha, seems determined to run their roost into the ground. And Baltimore is many things, but forgiving is not on the list.

When his stepdad puts the roost in peril, Poe sees no choice but to bargain with Charm City’s only demon, Tommy Tittoti. Rumors are that Tommy eats the souls of those foolish enough to try. Three strikes and you’re out. But really, Poe wasn’t using his soul anyway. And if it saves his roost? Worth it.

Tommy isn’t what Poe expects. Demon—huge, horned, hairy, and scary, right? Nope. Blond, gorgeous, with a bubble butt, and a lilting drawl that beckons Poe to come play. Total hookup-app fantasy material. Even if he is a murder twink.

Poe’s no angel, but Tommy . . . well he’s more devil than demon. Yet, Poe just can’t seem to keep his feathers out of the fire. As one bargain turns into two, and then a third tragedy strikes the ravens, Poe finds himself falling for a guy who may very literally be the death of him. Or maybe the flames will burn them both.

Highlight: W.M. Fawkes, The Seventh Ring of Bertrand Bell (Bluebeard)

imageOkay, I'm just going to say it: I love this story. Each author had such a unique take on their chosen fairytale, but I adored this one because it's what I would call a contemporary-gothic romance. It has such a great spooky feel to it like the best gothics, but it's set in the present. It had very likable characters. I wanted to wrap Elio in cotton and keep him safe! From the beginning you know things are going to go very, very wrong. This, obviously, is my jam. Ooh, very, very wrong? Count me in. 😂 And Fawkes has such a fantastic twist on the tale of Bluebeard. She took so many of the original elements and reworked them into a griping tale. I read it in one sitting, then wrote Rhys Lawless (our fearless leader) and gushed to him about it. I love how different this story feels from some of the others. It's a really unique take and shhhh . . . it's one of my top picks in the volume.

W.M.'s mini-blurb: Elio Peralta’s life is forever changed when Bertram Bell claims him as a magician’s apprentice. He leaves his home, his family, and his childhood best friend to enter a world of spells and potions. But magic is the least of Bell’s mysteries. Six apprentices came before Elio, and uncovering what happened to them may cost Elio everything.

Updates: Books and Audiobooks

Starfig Book 4: I'm currently working on Fairy & Impartial. So far, so good. There's some great surprises, new characters, visiting some old friends and enemies. You'll see a lot more of Bill in this one, and while I haven't written the blurb I'll put up on Amazon, here's the gist:

All Twig wants is to settle into mated life with his wizard. No drama. No heartache. A HEA fit for a dragon.

Hahahaha. Yeah, no. That's not this story. Instead, Twig and Quinn are roped into a new case involving missing orc stones (yes, those really are a thing), as well as a murder investigation with a certain red fury as the main suspect. Twig's old enemies are dropping like fairy flies, and his dad is on the PR warpath. Tuuk Chingle is still using Quinn as his muse for his Rei-gency Romances--Twig is SO not amused--and Quinn's little brother can't seem to stop hitting on their housemate.

What else could go wrong?

Buckle up, you're about to find out.

Audiobook: Must Love Demons

Must Love Demons is currently with the amazing Darcy Stark. He did the audio for In Fair Verona, so will continue to voice Nico and his friends. He's recording it in May, so hopefully if the ACX/Audible Gods cooperate, Must Love Demons should hit the shelves sometime in June. *Fingers crossed *

Audiobook: Fairy & Impartial

While I won't be able to release the ebook/print at the same time as the audiobook, I'm on Greg Tremblay's schedule. The audio will hopefully (again if the ACX/Audible Gods cooperate) release soon afterward.

Audiobook: The Demon's in the Details

Greg Tremblay will also be lending his fantastic talents to The Demon's in the Details. I'm so excited to hear what he does with this story because his voice is PERFECT for urban fantasy romance. The audiobook should be available by September. I'll keep you all posted if timelines change.

Thanks so much for reading! I'll be in touch. Enjoy the flowers, stay safe, and happy reading!
