Time Away: Reflecting on What Really Matters

Aug 13, 2025 3:47 pm

You may have noticed I've bit quieter lately. That’s because I took some intentional time off for road trips, events, and outdoor adventures with family. I hope you’ve had the chance to do the same!

Stepping away from the daily grind offers a rare opportunity in modern life to reflect—on what’s working, what’s not, and where new opportunities lie ahead.

For me, one of my weeks away was a backcountry canoe/camping spent in the remote Boundary Waters Canoe Area (BWCA) in Northern Minnesota. This was my fourth BWCA expedition and was again powerful reminder of how calming life can be when the constant buzz and beep of technology fades away. In addition, the focus required to navigate, stay safe, and enjoy the wilderness brings me clarity I can then apply to my priorities in daily life, a lesson I’m eager to attempt to how apply to both professional and personal goals.

What about you? Have you had moments recently to pause and reflect? Did your time away spark any insights for your business or personal growth?

I’d love to hear your thoughts and reflections—reply to this email and let’s connect.

Here’s to making not letting those summer vacations and times of prospective fade away, but bolster us as we get back to it. Let's go!
