First Things First: Got Eternal Life?

It's easy to be selfish.

Because it's natural to be selfish.

But Christ calls us to be self-LESS. To model who He is.

Even (or especially?) in our marriage.

We've got to remember to GENUINELY take an interest in our spouse. Their desires, their fears, their worries, their dreams.

Even when we don't FEEL like it at first.

Philippians 2:3-4

"Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too."

QUESTION TO ASK:

What's one thing I can do to show genuine interest in my spouse today?

PRAYER: Heavenly Father thank you for your word. Even when it's uncomfortable. Thank you for shining a light on the areas I need to improve. I am ready and willing to be molded into who you want me to be. Forgive me for being selfish and only looking out for my own interests. Help me to take a genuine interest in my spouse. In Jesus' name. Amen.
