We can’t be everything to everyone, but we can be everything to what matters most.

Shifting focus

As you may know already, I’ve spent years working with Wix, helping 150+ brands and entrepreneurs build their online presence with intention. It has been incredibly rewarding.

During the pandemic, I started my Wix Partner journey by building free websites for my local business in my community to survive. Within the first 11 months, I earned Top Partner status. Just a few months later, I was recognized as both a Top 20 Wix Designer and was selected as one of only 18 people in the world to become an official Wix Community Leader.

Technology has always been a passion of mine, and I wanted to make it more approachable, to help remove the fear and overwhelm many people feel when building a website or using technology in general—much like my experience teaching at Apple.

But as my journey progressed, I found myself shifting. While my love for helping others remains, I realized something important: I needed to spend less time doing work for others, and more time pursuing what truly drives me—filmmaking.

Why film is my first love

Film has always been a deep passion of mine. I made my first short film 17 years ago and have been involved in storytelling ever since.

Film is more than just a creative outlet for me—it’s a powerful medium for me to promote mental health, advocate for change in the industry, and ensure representation both on and off the screen.

With that in mind, I’ve decided to focus on filmmaking as my first and main priority. This isn’t just about creating films; it’s about building a life that allows my passions to ride in the front seat and designing my life in a way that reflects who I truly am.

My partner, Joehey, and I are merging our passions and energy to create films that matter, including our first project about sleep. 

But more than that, we want to build this film with our audience—bringing you along for the ride, allowing you to participate, and building in public, much like the philosophy written in Show Your Work! by Austin Kleon.

We believe filmmaking is for everyone, and we’re committed to weaving social, racial, economic, and environmental justice into our work.

A thank you to Wix

While my focus is shifting, I want to express my deepest gratitude to you. Working with websites, especially through Wix, has been an incredible chapter in my life. I’ve loved demystifying technology, helping people like you build businesses and improve their lives through technology.

My work with Wix isn’t disappearing. I’ll still be teaching and creating, but with a different focus: filmmakers.

Filmmakers need websites, too, and I’ll be there to help them build platforms that elevate their stories and connect them with their audiences.

My lighthouse—my goal—has simply shifted.

What this means for you
