Dear Family,

I know this might sound cliché, but it truly is a great day to be alive, even if it doesn’t always feel like it.

A few days ago, I came across a quote from Steve Harvey: "You can’t cry about having a lot on your plate when the whole time your goal was to eat. Stop complaining!”

Think about it. How many of us clawed tooth and nail to get to where we are now? All those late-night study sessions in law school or the years spent working a 9-to-5 to self-fund our businesses have brought us to where we are today.

We physically manifested our future selves, and although life may not look exactly as we envisioned, it’s still a blessing.

I think about all the people standing on the corners in Irvington and Newark, day and night, with no hope or aspirations. That could have easily been me or any of you, but it’s not. We chose a different path and now look at us today.

As long as we’re breathing and have the opportunity to improve our careers, our family lives, and fulfill our personal goals, it truly is a great day to be alive.

The journey itself is the real blessing.
