Time Isn’t Your Enemy. It’s Your Tool.

Dear Family,

Most of us treat time like it’s working against us. We say things like:

“I don’t have enough time.”

“Time is slipping away.”

“If only I had more hours in the day.”

But what if time wasn’t something to fight? What if it was the sharpest tool in your toolkit?

You see, time is neutral.

It’s not friend or foe. It’s how you use it that gives it power. The same hour can be spent scrolling your phone or investing in your health. The same day can be spent reacting to fires or building systems that prevent them. The same decade can be wasted chasing every distraction—or invested into building wealth, relationships, and legacy.

Time compounds. Just like money.

Every choice you make about how you spend your hours is a deposit or withdrawal on your future. Think about it:

  • Time spent reading with your kids isn’t just “quality time.” It’s planting seeds that grow into confidence and connection years later.

  • Time spent reviewing your finances each month isn’t just “managing money.” It’s building a muscle that compounds into financial freedom.

  • Time spent on your health isn’t just about this year’s checkup. It’s about giving yourself more good years down the road.

We don’t get to control time. But we can decide how to spend it.

So instead of saying “I don’t have time,” ask yourself:

“Am I using time as a tool to build the life I say I want?”

The way you use your time today tells the truth about what you’ll have tomorrow.

Matt
