What Your Father Didn't Teach You About Shaving
Hi there,
Here's my weekly update for Sep 22, 2026...
🗒️ How Razor Design Affects Blade Feel And Shaving Behavior
Razor design determines how much of the blade interacts with your skin and at what angle, which directly controls blade feel.
That same design also changes how efficiently hair is cut and how much margin for error you have during the shave.
Blade feel is not just a sensation, it reflects how the razor behaves.
🗒️ What An Adjustable Razor Changes, And What It Does Not
An adjustable razor changes how much blade access the razor gives to the beard and skin, usually by changing blade gap, blade exposure, or the way the razor head presents the blade.
In a continuously adjustable razor, that change usually happens through a dial or mechanism that moves through a range of settings.
Higher settings usually increase efficiency and blade feel.
Lower settings usually reduce efficiency and blade feel.
