Mantic59's Blogging Email

You're getting this short note because you recently expressed interest in getting emails from me related to running a blog/website.

I got a number of questions from bloggers which I'll be addressing in the coming weeks.

As a "kick-off" email though, I thought I'd share a couple of my biggest "wins" when it comes to products or services that have really made a difference in my blogging:

Geniuslink (FYI the link is an affiliate link but you can just google it if you want to avoid the tracking): at its most basic it's just another link shortener (geni.us) but it can automatically "localize" Amazon links to the appropriate country storefront (amazon.co.uk, amazon.fr, amazon.ca, etc.) depending on where your reader is located. Plus if you are an Amazon Affiliate it can help you aggregate link commissions from those countries (yes, Amazon now has its own "onelink" feature, but in my experience Geniuslink localization works better).

It works with a number of other affiliate programs too and it can create mini landing pages ("choice pages") where a reader can select where to buy a product from (even if it's not on an affiliate program). You can then look at their reports to determine what your visitors are interested in. The price is usage-based and very reasonable.

Missinglettr (another affiliate link but again you can just google it if you want to avoid tracking): Missinglettr (yes, that last "e" is intentionally left out) will grab your latest blog post and create a "drip" campaign on social media. I spend less about 15 minutes "tweaking" a campaign and it's set for a year.

Unlike other "evergreen" link services, Missinglettr doesn't just repeat the blog title but can rotate among quotes and images in the blog post. You can add additional assets (including other images or videos) if desired. Analytics are basic but reasonably useful. Missinglettr has been responsible for thousands of extra pagevews per month on Sharpologist.

That's all for now. Remember, if you know of someone else who blogs or has a website, feel free to pass this email along.
