What Your Father Didn't Teach You About Shaving

I'm Really Starting To Dig Italian Shave Soaps

I recently received a tub of Officina Artigiana Milano as a holiday gift from Sharpologist sponsor New England Shaving Co.

While Italian shave soaps don't really have the historical prominence that the old-school British brands have in the US (other than Proraso), I think they are being a lot more vigorous in improving their product and are beginning to "get the word out" beyond their own shores.

Witch Hazel Before Shaving?

The benefits of using witch hazel after shaving have been pretty well established.

But a few weeks ago I was trawling some old data from the shave forums and and I came across a thread about using witch hazel as a pre-shave. I was intrigued so I decided to investigate.

Essential Oils, Aromatherapy, And Shaving

Lately I've been doing some research into essential oils and aromatherapy. I got to wondering if I could integrate aromatherapy into a shaving routine.

Turns out, with a little research and careful purchasing, I think you can!
