What Your Father Didn't Teach You About Shaving
Adjustable Razors Finally Hit The Mainstream
It's no big secret that I'm a big fan of adjustable razors. My first "real" double edge razor was a Merkur Progress and I fell in love with the flexibility and control adjustables offer.
But the availability of the adjustable safety razor, once relegated to a niche’ within a niche’, has recently expanded with a number of new models available over the past couple of years.
I now have no fewer than 15 different adjustable razors in my den, with more on the way (like the Rex adjustable slant razor coming in February)!
There is no longer any real reason not to try an adjustable razor: they are available with a variety of handles, head styles, and price points.
Speaking Of The Merkur Progress
While writing the adjustable razor article and mentioning my history with the Merkur Progress I realized I never did a proper review of the razor for Sharpologist. So I wrote one.
Did you know the Progress' design goes back to the mid-1950's but a long-handle version didn't appear until 2011?
