I couldn't stop myself with that subject line. It's SPRING!
Roses, irises, peonies and strawberry blossoms are in bloom right now. It's a great time to get inspired around here. Richmond's offerings of festivals, conventions, marathons, DIY shows, plant sales, special events at museums, it's all in full swing and all you need to do is keep your eyes open for flyers and posters or just ask friends and neighbors what they're up to and what they're looking forward to, and you'll find yourself overwhelmed with options. I'm doing my best to step back from the digital world and remember that I don't have to rely on it to know what's going on.
GOOD THINGS
The abortion quilt, benefitting Richmond Reproductive Freedom Project, is up for raffle right now. It really came out beautifully.
The Richmond Renaissance faire was full of whimsy and was a great reminder that it's fun to dress up with friends.
Kitchenette added a new member with a new sound! Excited to share more soon.
I've been volunteering in the elementary school library and it's so great. There's something calming about touching books, and organizing them brings me back to college days working in the stacks. It's grounding and it's a totally different way of using my brain than I get to with tattooing.
The other Curio kids are doing wild amounts of backpieces. It's inspiring to be around. Oh and we have SO many guests coming through these next few months! We're trying to keep our IG updated @curio.appointmentonly.
Backpiece ideas!
Work has been steady and now it's set to slow down a little again. There's a relaxed atmosphere and some space to just....toss ideas around, make edits and changes to existing drawings, brainstorm about big pieces we all want to get when the economy gets more secure. Speaking of which, here's what I have available in May. These are tattoo appointments but complimentary consultations are always available upon request:
Fri 5/8 at 3:30 pm
Thurs 5/21 at 4 pm
Weds 5/27 at 10 am
Thurs 5/28 at 11 am and 3:30 pm
Fri 5/29 at 11 am
Year of the horse tattoo...plenty more where this came from :O) In good company with a James Travis dragon and some Steve Byrne mech.
Taking deep breaths and doing my best out here! Thanks for reading.
Yours,
Amy
