we need wisdom

Hello!

We have asked the opinion of doctors in the U.S., Kenya, and India. Each doctor has advised that heart surgery is too risky for Catherine. There are serious concerns that she won’t survive the operation. For now, Catherine will finish her medication— a six month prescription. Thankfully, the medication has increased Catherine’s energy and playfulness. Yet Catherine misses her family, and they miss her. But her parents lack the resources, knowledge, and skill to take care of Catherine. And her home village is a 10 hour drive from the safe home. Please pray that all decisions made will be best for Catherine, and led by the Lord.

Thankfully, I also have good news. Doreen is finalizing an agreement with Children’s Surgical Hospital of Uganda, a privately run not-for-profit hospital. Doreen says the hospital is well-organized, clean, and modern. The hospital director, who is competent & caring, sought out Lupins Africa. Children would come to the hospital for medical treatment. Then staff would discover the child had been sexually abused. But the hospital was not equipped to help them. Now, through our partnership, more children will experience freedom and healing. Above all, these children can know Jesus, the eternal Rescuer. And, if that wasn’t enough, the hospital will be offering all its services free for our girls! What a blessing!

P.S. One last thing. The girls have two significant safety needs— transportation and electricity. We need to act on these soon. I will send more details in the next few weeks.
