As I sit here preparing to write for the day, I can’t help but feel a little bit disappointed. I joined a W.R.I.T.E challenge through my school and the winner got their story published in the school newspaper. It was a group effort and we found out yesterday that the group I was in didn’t win. I wanted to use the fact that I helped write an article that was chosen out of thirteen groups to help
get me into University of Wyoming’s Master program in the fall of 2023.
It's an extremely competitive school as they only accept 3-4 students per year. I’m looking for any opportunity to help elevate me above the other entries. Maybe the fact that I’ll have five published books by then will be enough. That and hopefully my scores on the exam I have to take to get in.
Writing is going well. I’m past the lock in and Kiara is being her usual stubborn self. At least she isn’t throwing wrenches at me every five seconds like she did with book one. I think Dakota is keeping her reined in for the most part. This book is all about her fighting the internal since she’s fought the external.
I’m having surgery on my back March 29th. I have a ruptured disk that is sitting on a nerve, so it needs removed. According to the surgeon, I’ll wake up pain free minus the whole having my back cut open. I’m looking forward to that. It’s affecting the lower left side of my body, so walking and standing are painful right now. Since we’re coming into warmer weather, it’ll be nice being able to walk my dog and ride my bicycle again.
