Should you celebrate yourself when you aren't in a good space?

Hello, you!
Long time, hey. Are you well?
I’ve spent the past few days feeling sad and in my feels. I have been dealing with a few things which are a challenge to me emotionally.
Thankfully, I am working through them with my psychologist and coach.
I don’t think bad triggers are necessarily the worst thing in my world. Sure, they feel awful but I see them as an opportunity to work and heal through something, even if it means having a meltdown and crying it out.
So that’s where I am right now.
And since it’s not a great place to be in, I was wondering if it would be worth it to continue to celebrate myself intentionally and consistently.
My answer is a resounding yes.
It’s an absofuckinglutely!
You know why?
Because even when the skies are grey and it’s pouring with rain, I still have wonderful things happening to me and I am doing great things.
So this is what I am celebrating this week:
1. Doing less.
2. Being interviewed on one of my favourite black American podcasts. I will share a link once the episode is published.
3. Being invited on another podcast, but it’s internal so I won’t be able to share a link with you once it is out.
4. Continuing to communicate my needs.
5. Doing my hair on time but I didn’t like the hairstyle, so I unplaited as soon as I got home and now I look like I didn’t do my hair on time. Yikes.
6. Not doing any work yesterday and today to honour myself because ma’am, I am on leave!
7. Joining the Lego club.
I am celebrating myself by having some Yococo ice-cream, which is my favourite.
If you are having a hard time celebrating yourself in a tough season, you can message me for a chat and I will hold space for you.
My bookings calendar is open for personal and business spiritual readings. The former includes sangoma/ shaman, psychic, medium and prophetic readings. You can also do a reading if you'd like to find out how your ancestors/ guides would like you to celebrate yourself.
Anyway, have a lovely week ahead.
If you are in South Africa, the next long weekend is in 6 weeks. Weep with me!
Love,
Gogo Pabi
