Why Sticking to the Plan Matters (Even If It’s Not Perfect)

Sometimes sticking to the plan is more important even if it is the wrong plan.
Shocking.
The thing is you need to develop the muscle to stick to your plan.
Sure if the plan is horribly wrong then change it.
But if you find yourself constantly changing the plan then you have a different problem.
The problem is discipline.
The problem is focus.
The problem is integrity.
The problem is accountability.
The problem is responsibility.
The problem is ownership.
Sticking to the plan means seeing it through no matter what.
If you find yourself constantly jumping from one thing to the next then you have no plan and no direction.
I know this because that’s what I was doing with my life 10 years ago.
I was following other people’s plans for me or I was trying to latch on to someone else’s plan or I was trying to find the next best thing.
It was all useless.
Until I realised that I need to create my own plan and pursue it.
That’s always the best plan for you.
When it is your plan.
This is a muscle that needs to be developed.
And here are some simple ways you can begin doing that:
1. Plan every single day on a calendar
2. STICK to the plan no matter what
3. If you cannot stick to your plan then assess:
a. Was the planning incorrect?
b. What made you compromise your plan?
c. What can you do to plan better?
Just by doing this you will start developing your muscle to stick to YOUR plan.
This is not some magic bullet.
It will take time to develop this muscle just like going to the gym.
But do it consistently over the course of a year and you will see a big shift in the results you are creating.
You will also see that you actually have a lot of time to take care of all areas of business and life.
Having said that, this is the number one thing we achieve together in as little as 15 days in my coaching program.
A lot becomes possible in the right environment and you end up saving a lot of time, energy and effort in doing simple things so that you can focus on the bigger things.
