How to reconnect with old passions, even if they feel out of reach...

Hey there Mama,


Can you believe we are almost at the end of Februaury? Whew! The last month has flown by! For me, its been about getting back into routines. My kids had summer holidays recently (I'm in Australia) and now we are getting back into our usual school (for my youngest) and homeschool (for my eldest) routines.


Different kids, need different supports - just like us Mums! What is relaxing to me, the things that bring me joy, may not be your cup of tea. And that's OK. What's important is remembering what those things are for you and checking in with yourself. Are you incorporating hobbies, past times, activities that YOU love into your day?


I get it, being a Mum is full on, life gets busy and there are lots of competing calls on our time and heart. But if we forget about doing things for ourselves, we can quickly begin to feel resentful, overwhelmed and OVER IT!


So, how can you reconnect with old passions and hobbies that you loved before you became a Mum? Perhaps you can't go on a 5 day, intense hike at this stage of your life. But could you find a local trail and do a 2 hour nature walk? You might not be able to go out for a nine course degustation meal at a high end restaurant, but can you pick up your favourite gourmet snacks at the local deli? If you loved painting huge canvases pre kids but don't have the time for that just now, why not grab some scrap paper and do some sketching?


Take a moment today to think about the things that bring you joy and how you might be able to bring them into your life once again.
