Dear ,

It's very easy to advise a working parent to make time to be present in the lives of their children when you don't have a 9-5, and can't understand how difficult it can be to balance work and family.

I can almost hear you saying 'gbam!' I know right.😊

As a parent who works from home these days, I reserve extra empathy and support for parents and clients I work with who still keep their 9-5 jobs.

This is because I know what it's like. Yop, I have been there and done that I had both of my children while working 9-5 jobs.  I even had to resume work after our second when our daughter was only about 8 weeks old.

Hey, this isn't about me, but about all the parents out there who work so hard at jobs where you aren't fully in control of your time, and you have to balance this with being present for your children and the entire family.

We salute you.πŸ™ŒπŸ™ŒπŸ™Œ

You are doing okay, and guess what, you can even be great at this. A few ideas you might want to consider :

♦ Calm down and take a deep breath every time it's become a lot.

♦ Create parenting plans monthly, quarterly or yearly.

♦ Build structures and create a system that works together as a family, and make time during your holiday to walk through it with everyone involved.

♦Resist the urge to micromanage your home. Let everyone have a responsibility.

♦ Diffuse in your car for about 10minutes after you get home, before walking through the door with your best energy. Hold that energy for 10minutes with the family -sharing small talks and asking about their day and hug them, then you can send them off so you get the desired rest.

♦ Spend some time with each one of them doing what they love at the weekend, it could be 30mins -1hour just to touch base.

♦ Share a meal or something of a tradition as a family at least once a week.

♦ Remember to be generous with laughter, hugs, affirmation, and your prayers...

🎯 You see...it can be a win-win situation work or no work!😁

P.S: I shared many stories and strategies in my book "Mentor Parent" that will help you create this balance.
