Why is your child lost in his/her own life for so long?

Oh yes, most of our children practically go through their lives uninvolved until they leave our homes.

You heard me right. Some parents are such bullies that even as undergraduates their children are still an extension of them.

"Oh but my child is only 10 years old, what does he know about what is good for him? "

That exactly is where we miss it, your child is an individual and should be involved in the decisions that you make in their life.

By the time they are about 8 years old, you should give them options and let them have their preferred choice.

Teach them how to make good choices and allow them to start making informed decisions for themselves.

Teach them to run things by you and the wise people around them for it is wisdom to seek counsel from the wise.

Build their decision-making muscles, and then let them enjoy the consequences of their choices - wins or failures.

Also, teach them to review their choices and learn from their journey. It is okay that they fail sometimes. Teach them to embrace failure and rise from them with a bang!

Don't raise an entitled child I beg of you, that child deserves better.
