I’m not big on rules.
But I *am* a big fan of the one I’m about to share with you.
Why?
Because it makes the number one action for a healthy, fit lifestyle a no-brainer.
It virtually guarantees consistency, even when you get busy, your motivation is low, or even if you’re traveling.
Here’s the rule:
Never skip more than two days in a row.
That’s it.
This works because it focuses on what actually drives results: Consistency.
Most people struggle because the gap in their actions becomes too big.
- A missed workout → a missed week.
- A few off meals → “I’ll restart next Monday.”
The 2-Day Rule stops that from happening.
You can miss a day… you can even miss two. But on day three, you show up in some form, no matter what!
What that looks like depends on the habit.
If it’s fitness, day three might mean:
- A short walk
- A simple strength session
- A little chair mobility
If it’s nutrition, it might mean:
- One balanced, protein-forward meal
- Prepping food for the next day
- Getting back to your normal eating rhythm
The goal is not to “make up for lost time.” The goal is to stay oriented.
