October Newsletter

Hi ,

Can you believe it's October already?!? I know I can't! This year is flying by, but hopefully, you've been having at least as much fun as I have. As the cooler weather sets in, many families start focusing on more formal work. Since my family chases good weather, we prefer to spread our schoolwork out throughout the year. What do you prefer?

New blog posts from September

Games that Don't Require Reading: if you have any kids that aren't reading yet, or that just don't like reading much, then you need to check out this giant list of over 70 games that are organized by subject!

Clue: This is a favorite classic game, and someone created picture checklists that don't require reading!

Catan Games: Do you like the idea of Settlers of Catan, but can't decide which game(s) you should try? My family has tried several, so get help deciding here.

Story Line: Fairytales: This is a very fun storytelling game that shares some elements with Apples to Apples. See if it's right for your family!

Storytelling Games: There are many amazing storytelling games on the market! Here are the ones my family has tried, and why you need storytelling games in your life.

In September, we had play-throughs published, too! Scrambled States, Take Off!, and Passport to Culture help explore geography and social studies.

What's Coming Up

You can look forward to game reviews on Labyrinth, CAMP, and Oceans, as well as a long-overdue article on how to start homeschooling. Upcoming game play-throughs include Continent Race, National Geographic's Global Pursuit, and Tell Tale.

As your kids work on developing their writing skills, consider my Roll-and-Write a Story sheets. There are two regular sheets, plus a spooky sheet, a fall harvest sheet, and a winter sheet! Over 6,000 different combinations for only $5!

I updated my Pizza Parlor game to include slices that you can print, cut out, and laminate! If you purchase before I update the sales page, you can still get it for just $5.

I just finished a new logic freebie! It's a mini scavenger hunt all about the types of logical arguments and their qualities. If you have been thinking about one of my other games or my logic unit study, this is excellent to try out! It's the perfect introduction to logical arguments.

What are your favorite parts of fall? Are you making time to enjoy your favorite activities? I hope so! Until next time,

Happy Gameschooling!
