Happy Back to School!

Hi ,
Does September signal the back-to-school season for your family? Maybe you have one or more children in public or private school, maybe your family follows the public school schedule, or maybe you work in the schools. My family learns year-round, so "back to school" doesn't have much meaning for us. In addition, with our traveling ways, we don't even experience real seasons anymore (spending winters closer to the equator and summers further from it).
The Homeschool Quest's Back-to-School edition of their ezine is also ready! This ezine is free to download or you can flip through it on their website. There are always lots of amazing articles from a variety of contributors, and lots of extra freebies!
I am also super pleased to let you know that I have started writing posts and reviews for the blog again! If you follow me on any social media (I'm on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, and LinkedIn), you should be seeing new posts from me there, too. I should hopefully have new play-through videos up starting next week, or maybe the week after.
So, without further ado, here are my latest posts:
New yesterday is Games That Don't Require Reading. I was going to do a round-up post with little blurbs about each game, but I ended up with over 70 games on this list! So if you have a child who struggles with reading or just doesn't enjoy it, check these games out so they can enjoy games, too. (It's organized by subject!)
One of the big projects my family has been working on lately is learning a second language (right now, it's mostly Spanish). I wrote to you about our Spanish-learning escapades recently, but this is a blog post with all the resources we use. If your family would like to learn a second language, check this post out for lots of resources.
Sportsmanship is so important for everyone, but so difficult for many. Both of my kids have struggled with winning and losing gracefully, and this has been an ongoing adventure for us. Here are my best tips and tricks for teaching sportsmanship.
Earlier this year, my kids started learning how to type. I need to do a separate review of the typing program they've been using, but for now, I have a list of many typing programs and games, most of which are free.
This month, you can look for posts on Clue, Catan Games, Story Line: Fairy Tales, and Storytelling Games. Look for play-through videos of Scrambled States, Take Off!, and Passport to Culture.
Whether you school year-round, this is back-to-school season for you, or if this is just another Tuesday, I hope you're able to capture some of the excitement of new beginnings and projects, too.
Until next time,
Happy gaming!

P.S. In celebration of new posts on the blog and getting things going again, I want to give you $5 off anything in my shop. Just use code NEW5 and you'll be able to get games, journals/planners, or other printables for free or unit studies for a bargain. This coupon is only good on one item, though. And hurry, because it's only good for a few days!
