February Newsletter

,

Is it just me, or did January really drag on? Like, it seemed to take FOREVER. Now it's done and I just realized it was February (and therefore time for another newsletter)! So, hurray for getting through January!

It's been a bit since I've given you an update on the blog. If you haven't stopped by in a while, here's what's new:

The series on gameschooling with video games wrapped up. If you have a child who loves video games, check it out for lots of tips and learning opportunities!

Hnefatafl (Viking Chess) has a hard-to-pronounce name, but it's a great 2-player logic game!

I'm not sure whether to call it Magnetic, Magnetism, or Magnetic Chess, but it's fantastic for 1 or more players and can help kids learn about magnets, too.

Chronology is another history game similar to Timeline, but comes with a lot more cards, has no pictures, and you're building individual timelines instead of one for the whole table.

This month, you can look for new posts on BetaBotz, Finders Seekers Escape Rooms, Dangerous Book For Boys Game, and Not Parent Approved.

New freebies in my shop include a sample of Spanish posters and a spring coloring placemat.

New videos on the YouTube channel include Snap It Up!, Quiddler, Bananagrams, and some alternate ways my family enjoys playing Scrabble. This month, you can look for videos on Compose Yourself, Hnefatafl (my husband had to pronounce it!), Dominotes, and Go Composer.

My family has been planning our spring, summer, and even next fall and winter travels. We're so excited for new places to explore after a mostly-stationary winter! What are you doing to help get yourself out of the January and February winter blues? Are you able to plan a garden, travel, a fun unit, or some field trips? Hit reply and let me know! Until next time,

Happy Gaming!

~Ashley

P.S. I know the current political climate is hard for many people. If you're feeling worried, stressed, or scared, I want you to know that I'm rooting for you. Gypsy Gameschooler is secular and I, personally, am liberal. If you are LGBTQIA+, female, a person of color, or a variety of religions (or none at all), disabled/special needs, neurodivergent, etc; you are safe with me. If you would like some recommendations for FaceBook groups that you can feel safe in, I am happy to provide them.

P.P.S. Hey, how about a coupon code?!? Use code FRACTION5 to get $5 off my Pizza Parlor Fraction Game (regularly $7)! Hurry, though, because it's only good for a few days. Thank you so much for being here!
