Hi ,
Have you ever been really excited to teach your kids something, then almost regretted doing so later? Before this year, I couldn't say yes. Well, that's changed.
I was so excited to teach my kids about logical fallacies this year. It was something I'd never gotten a chance to learn, so I'll admit that I was probably just as excited to learn it myself. (I think homeschooling is a great excuse to learn new things, don't you?) This "quick unit" morphed into a pretty big unit on logic and philosophy, but that's not what I regret. We've had a lot of fun with it.
However, I have created a monster. Every time my husband tries to tell a joke or a pun (which I'll admit, we love puns), my son will shout out, "Equivocation!" I've lost count of the number of times we've explained to him the difference between a joke or a pun and a logical argument or debate.
All this to say: my Logic Unit Study is finally ready!!
I'm sorry I'm a week late emailing you, but I was so close to finishing this unit study on logic that I had to wait until I could announce it was ready.
And it's here!! For just $15, you can get access to 4 unique, original games, plus links to lessons on logic, recommendations for books, movies, TV shows, activities, and games, instructions for creating a science experiment and writing a persuasive essay, and grading rubrics for a variety of ages.
My kids are 8 and 10, so I designed it mostly with them in mind. I don't imagine kids younger than 8 will find much success with this unit study, but I think it's perfect for middle school. (My kids did not complete the science experiment or the persuasive essay, and there are grading rubrics for early elementary through high school.)
This could be perfect for a fun summer unit or to start off the new school year. If you haven't checked out my offerings lately, make sure you head over to the shop because I'm working hard to add new resources.
What are your summer plans? Any fun travels or explorations?
Until next time, Happy gaming!
