On The Desk
I’ve received a lot of reads on Royal Road for Shade of the Kitsune and it’s made me really happy I could provide new chapters for everyone consistently. It’s probably one of my favorite pieces I’ve written.
If you haven’t had a chance to read it on Royal Road or Patreon, I’d love to hear why.
Sold to an assassin clan, her blade will be why the country falls to its knees.
Shizu has trained all her life to be the ultimate weapon for the Hikage clan - a ninja clan hellbent on controlling the city.
With no memories of her past, Shizu aims to be the one to take down the Daimyo through any means necessary. Her first mission is to remove the one who betrayed her. Only that may be more difficult than she imagined when new plots arise and allies turn enemies. Samurai and shinobi both target her and will stop at nothing to prevent her from reaching the Daimyo.
Finishing a mission is difficult, but more so when you don't know where you belong. Shizu will cross paths with demonic creatures and humans alike as she uncovers who her true family is and who is her friend.
Using the art of espionage, killing, and creativity, Shizu will stop at nothing to obtain her goal. If she fails, it won't just be her head that she loses.
Around The Desk
Well, that blizzard hit everyone really hard this weekend, including us here in Ohio. I had to try and stay off too many electronics in case the power went out (plus side it only flickered). I’m happy though since I’ve wanted a white Christmas before since we usually get a muddy one. I just didn’t want a -20 degree one. I hope everyone else is able to stay warm.
On The Bookshelf
I’ve been in a weird kick with reading where I’ve wanted to flip between books. I’m sure others feel the same. So, one day I want to read a light-hearted fantasy romance, and the next I want to dig my teeth into something gritty. It’s too bad I can’t find a good combo of those two things.
