The Kimya Glasgow brand is all about empowering our customers with our fashion lifestyle brand. We've continued to celebrate Women's History Month during March. I encourage you to follow us on Instagram (if you're not there already) as we celebrate amazing women activists, feminist writers and thought-leaders, especially Caribbean women who were the front-runners in our quest for a more equal society.

We recently celebrated Heroes' Day in St Vincent & the Grenadines with an emphasis on our origins. As we celebrate our National Hero Paramount Chief Joseph Chatoyer, we look back on our 1st peoples - the Kalinago and Garifuna ancestors.

In that vein, one of the women highlighted was Vincentian poet, community organiser, feminist and indigenous rights activist Nelcia Robinson.

A trailblazer in feminist research in the Caribbean, Nelcia has also been involved in international directives such as the World Summit for Social Development and the 1995 World Conference on Women. She became a founding member of the Caribbean Association for Feminist Research and Action (CAFRA), an organization aimed at analyzing and documenting the socio-economic and political inequalities facing women in the region, as a means upon which to base corrective political actions.

She has served as a civil society representative on the Regional Judicial and Legal Services Commissions and as chair of the Commonwealth Women's Network and she became coordinator of the Caribbean Association of Indigenous People.

Onto our Exciting Announcement!

On Easter Saturday, April 8th, 2023, the Kimya Glasgow brand will be hosting a Fashion Gala & Fundraising Dinner at the breathtaking Firefly Estate in Bequia - "Under The Stars".

This event marks the launch of the Kimya Glasgow Spring/Summer 2023 Collection - “Passion Caraibe” - created as part of a design collaboration under the TEECA Project to enhance trade in the Eastern Caribbean & Martinique.

This event is not just a celebration of fashion, but a fundraising effort to raise awareness & support for the St Vincent & the Grenadines Conservation Fund (SVGCF) and its projects, including support of conservation efforts for biodiversity, beach restoration, zero-waste initiatives, land conservation, coral replanting, food security projects, and support for the disabled in St Vincent & the Grenadines.

The Gala features a festive cocktail party, a pop-up shop - including guest artisanal brands from around the Caribbean, a live jazz band, a 3-course dinner by Firefly restaurant, and a live fashion presentation of the new capsule collection.

Plus, 50% of profits from this event will be donated to the St Vincent & the Grenadines Conservation Fund.

The event is also being supported by First Citizens Group, a leading financial services provider in the Caribbean, dedicated to empowering women and men to fulfill their potential unencumbered by issues of inequity.
