Plus check out our 15% OFF Limited Time OFFER Flash Sale Below......
Reflect on your accomplishments - Take some time to reflect on what you’ve accomplished in the past year, and what you’re proud of. Write it in your journal to remind yourself.
I am proud of myself for ________
Write Down ALL Your Dreams for 2023 - Grab a sheet of paper and write down your goals for the year; your big dreams. Just scribble anything, even the wild improbable ones. It could be your business or career, family, relationships, finances, travel or an educational goal. I do this with my coaching clients. Dream BIG but write it down. Refine your list, then work backwards to see what your monthly, weekly and daily goals will get you close to your dreams.
Make your goals SMART
Specific: “I will put $20 in an envelope every day to save for my vacation”, is better than “save for a trip”.
Measurable: Do yoga 3 times a week vs get more exercise
Attainable: Convert to being a vegan tomorrow vs Meatless Mondays
Relevant: Save 5% of monthly income vs. become a millionaire next year
Time-Specific: Stop drinking sodas by March 1 vs. cut down on sugar
Get Work/Life Perspective - Your job is not your life; it finances your life. The busier you get, the more you can get lost in deadlines, conflicts with the boss and coworkers, not getting that promotion, and customer complaints. With the rush and stress comes a natural loss of perspective. Try to engage each week in some purposeful activity that is wholly unrelated to your job. A new hobby perhaps? A regular nature walk? Planned, purposeful activities that change your focus and create temporary healthy detachments can help you avoid getting lost in work.
Accentuate the Positive - Be cautious about acting or thinking in ways that limit your potential. Negative self-talk when things go wrong may put you at risk for undermining other goals. Defeat destructive thought patterns by noticing them, then shifting away from them as they arise. Use a mental keyword such as “enough!”, then refocus into positive things.
Pay Attention to Your Mental Health - Depression is not “in your head”. (Neither is anxiety). It’s in your whole body. Depression is a real, treatable disease — but only if you know you have it. Depression may be the result of genetics, environment, lifestyle, or a combination of factors. If you are having trouble shaking the blues(or feeling constantly anxious), schedule an appointment with your doctor or an accredited mental health professional, sooner rather than later.
Stay Active -. If you’re like me and you have trouble sticking to an exercise pattern, set small goals and start incorporating more movement into your life every day. Take the stairs, dance for 15 minutes, and stretch during TV commercials. Finding an exercise buddy is a good way to stay motivated. Regular exercise can make you feel better physically and emotionally, and it can help manage stress. Make it about health and not just the number on the scale.
Think about how you express gratitude - Most of us tend to reflect on what we’re grateful for when the year comes to an end, but have you expressed your gratitude to others? Share how you feel by writing a letter, making a phone call, or sending a gift to someone to tell them how grateful you truly are.
Answer this: I will express gratitude by ________
Ask yourself how you can be calmer - If you’ve been stressing out and wondering how you’ll ever manage to get everything done on your to-do list, it’s important to encourage yourself to calm down and take a breath. The never-ending to-do lists are probably not going away anytime soon, so you’re going to have to schedule frequent ‘calming down sessions.’ Try adding more mindfulness into your everyday with these tips.
Choose your word for the year - This is something I enjoy doing and I find it is helpful to set a theme and mindset for the new year. It’s a great way of reminding yourself what kind of energy you want for yourself.
Define or revisit your core values - Your core values are basically the guiding principles for everything you do, and knowing your top five can help you make tough decisions more easily.
Change your surroundings - Move around your furniture, get rid of the clutter, reorganize your drawers on at a time, add some plants to your favourite rooms, scented candles, fresh cut flowers on your bedside table. A change of surroundings will refresh your mind and perspective. Pick one day a week and make small changes. You'll be surprised at your progress!
Ask if you treated yourself with respect
Did you give yourself credit for everything you accomplished? Or did you doubt yourself one too many times? Reflect on how you can treat yourself like you would a dear friend, and strive to be kind to yourself more often.
Answer this: I will treat myself with respect by ________
Re-Assess Your Beauty Routine - shake up your beauty routine, wash your brushes if you’ve been neglecting to, throw out old makeup, reassess your skin’s needs and get products that respond to them; book an appointment with your esthetician and splurge a fresh new scent.
Special for YOU to help you start your new perspective - check out our 15% discount on our 50ml & 100ml Kimya Glasgow Vanilla Orchid, “The Quintessential Caribbean Scent”. Great on its own and also layered with your favourite scent creating your own unique luxury signature scent.
