I took the long red eye to Jacksonville Beach, FL (not to be confused with Jacksonville) and am meeting a bunch of new IR authors. There are some familiar faces from last year's Swirling the Big Easy which is also nice.

There's a 70's theme going for the whole weekend, but my procrastinating millennial ass had the biggest brain fart when I was packing. Other than the big, beautiful afros of the time, I barely remembered what kind of clothes were in fashion. I know bell bottoms, but they never fit me properly so I never wore them. So unfortunately, the tie-dyes and all the other fun stuff didn't make it into my bag.

Then, last night, my black card almost got revoked! It was movie night and they were showing Cleopatra Jones. I admitted I'd never seen it. The scandalous gasps that went around my table. The amount of "How in the world?" questions I had to answer! Then the drilling began.

I had to hang my head in shame when I didn't recognize half the blaxploitation films people were throwing my way. But that's alright. I watched Ms. Jones kick ass and get ass while doing it. Of course, now I have homework for when I go home. I will not be unprepared for my next foray into the seventies.

Now I need to know. Am I alone in not knowing about The Ms. Cleopatra Jones? Tell me, what other blaxploitation film from the seventies do I need to add to my list so I'll never be left fighting for my life again?
