Valentine Ideas and Writing Updates
Feb 09, 2022 5:03 pm
A Wednesday Welcome!
I mentioned in my last newsletter that we'd gotten some snow. Well, we got more. First we got sleet, then snow and cold. Last Monday it was 70ยบ and the next night it started sleeting. Temperatures didn't get above freezing until Friday afternoon. And then it was only for a little bit before dipping back into the teens. But Saturday was in the 40s and now the only snow that is left is on the north side of buildings where the winter sun doesn't shine, or in piles. I did get out in the snow on Friday and helped shovel someone's driveway. That was fun. Yes, it was fun. I like snow, and cold, and sunshine, and we mostly just had to push the snow to the sides. Pretty easy.
If you are trying to think of something different to do for Valentine's Day, or maybe you want to help your kids think of someone else besides themselves, I have a few ideas for you HERE.
Reading Challenge
If you joined my Reading Challenge, how are you doing? Don't forget to let me know so I can mark your books down. If you haven't joined the challenge and think you might like to, there is still time. You can read more about it HERE. The challenge doesn't end until the end of June.
Audio Special
Audible is having a special sign up deal. If you've never tried Audible before you can get 3 MONTHS of Audible for FREE! If you've wanted a chance to try Audible (most of my books are available to listen to on Audible) now is a good time to try it.
A Quick Writing Update:
I finished my draft of Secret Project and I will give you a hint about it. The title initials are "HISE".
I am back into Lawrence & Lenexa now and it's really moving. I've already written over 18k on it. We're up to around 53k words in the story, or something like that. There are two characters I don't like. If you've read the first parts of this story that I posted on my Friday blog some time ago, or if you read my post about this story (you can go HERE to read it), you will have already encountered one of them. Mrs. Hamstead. I'm not sure if she or the other person is worse.
Writing Camp
Speaking of writing, the first King's Daughters' Writing Camp of 2022 will be starting March 1st. Registration will start next Friday (Feb. 18th) and the gates will open on the 25th. Are you a Christian lady/girl looking for a safe place to write and connect with other writers? If you haven't tried KDWC, let me encourage you to give it a try. And if you know any ladies or girls who love to write, feel free to send them the link to our website. And if you have any questions, don't hesitate to reply to this email and ask.
Well, that's about it. I'm off to work on things like blog posts and preparing for camp, and thinking about the next part of Lawrence & Lenexa. What will I write after I finish L & L? I'm not sure. But in my blog post this coming Tuesday I have a list of possibilities. You might not want to miss it.
