The silence isn’t about you

You send 50 applications.

Silence.

It feels personal, right?

Like maybe you’re not good enough.

Like the portfolio still needs fixing.

Here’s the truth:

Most ghosting has nothing to do with your skills.

It’s the system you’re trapped in.

Think of the job boards like a giant lottery.

Tens of thousands of tickets, one winning number.

You’re not being ignored — you’re just standing in the wrong line.

When I was hiring at my old company, we barely looked at that line.

You know who got the interviews?

The people who came through referrals.

Why? Because referrals are safer. They come with trust attached.

That’s the unlock:

→ Job boards = 1% odds

→ Referrals = 20–30% odds

If you were buying a house and one mortgage broker gave you a 1% chance and another gave you a 30% chance, which one would you bet on?

So the real question is:

👉 Do you want to play the lottery, or do you want to play the trust game?

Takeaway: Ghosting is a sign you’re playing the wrong game, not that you’re the wrong player.

If you want to learn the trust game, the Career Creators Library walks you through it step by step.
