Why Hiring Managers Ignore Most Candidates

Mar 18, 2025 12:46 am

Today’s a full day at sea. No distractions. Just time to think. And one thought keeps coming up:

Most UX designers don’t get rejected. They get ignored.

Not because they’re unqualified. Not because they lack skills. But because hiring managers don’t see a clear reason to interview them.

Sending a resume and hoping for the best doesn’t work anymore. If you want a job, you need to show, not tell.

Instead of saying, “I’m a great UX designer,” do this:

✅ Identify their challenges (“Your product has X issue—here’s a quick fix.”)

✅ Show a specific way you can help (not just “I’m skilled,” but “Here’s how I’d solve this.”)

✅ Keep it short and clear (hiring managers are busy)

This is what I teach in my 3-Hour UX Job Search System—how to stand out without sounding desperate.

Most job seekers struggle because they rely on applications. My clients? They get hiring managers reaching out to them.

Normally $300, but while I’m on this cruise, it’s just $49.

2 days left before the offer disappears.
