Waiting for Perfection? It’s Costing You Opportunities.

“I’ll share my work once it’s perfect.”

Ever said that?

I see UX designers hold back their portfolios, case studies, and LinkedIn posts because they’re afraid to show incomplete work.

What if it’s not good enough?

What if someone criticizes it?

What if I embarrass myself?

So they keep tweaking. Polishing. Overthinking.

Months go by. No one sees their work. No one gives feedback. And worst of all?

No one hires them.

Because here’s the truth:

Hiring managers can’t give you a job if they can’t see your work.

Your portfolio doesn’t need to be perfect.

Your case studies don’t need to be pixel-perfect.

Your LinkedIn posts don’t need to be groundbreaking.

You just need to start sharing.

Here’s a better way to approach it:

1️⃣ Launch fast, refine later.

  • Share your case studies before they’re “final.”
  • Post your thoughts on UX even if they’re not “original.”
  • The more you put out, the more feedback you get.

2️⃣ Create a safe feedback circle.

  • Find a mentor, coach, or trusted peers to review your work.
  • Get used to receiving feedback in a low-stakes environment.

3️⃣ Build public accountability.

  • Announce that you’re working on something and update your progress.
  • Public commitment = motivation to follow through.

Waiting for perfect is just procrastination in disguise.

Done and shared beats perfect and hidden. Every. Single. Time.

If you need a safe space to share your work and get feedback, reply with “feedback” and I’ll share with you how we can work together.
