Peace be upon you,

I've had journals and planners for so long that I can't remember when I started the habit.

Lol.

I remember a day I went through some of my journals and found where I wrote; 'become a fashion designer' and it cracked me up that I had thought of it at all. The thing that got me was that I did take action by getting a sewing machine and accessories. I eventually realised that the fact that I am great with drawing fashionable pieces didn't mean that I want to be a seamstress too.

Going through those journals and thoughts showed me how I've grown into the best version of my awesome self.

Someone might be reading this and cringe at the thought of journaling because they can't stand it.

I understand. I've also had that love-hate relationship with the habit too.

I allowed the way other people journal to dictate the way I did mine.

That is a sure-fire way for you not to like it at all.

I've set myself free from what society holds as standard and I allow myself to bask in the way my body, soul and mind dictates to me as I infuse my uniqueness into whatever I do.

And all these I do according to what pleases my Lord.

First of all, I want you to feel and know that you can journal in your unique way; not tied to a certain way.

Secondly, I encourage you to use the medium that you find most convenient and easy for you.

Lastly, I want you to visualise having fun as you journal.

Here's an ebook on a simple guide to keeping a journal.
