Coach ,

Thought it would be fun again to feature a couple of coaches to study as you watch them coach tonight.

Week 2 Matchup: Packers vs. Bears

Which team has the edge in this matchup? Let's take a closer look…

Green Bay Packers

Green Bay offensive coordinator Adam Stenavich will be looking to establish the run against a solid Bears defense. Having Aaron Rodgers will obviously give the Packers an advantage in this game, but if Stenavich can’t get running back duo Aaron Jones and AJ Dillion going, it could be another long game for Green Bay.

Look for Coach Stenavich to rely on outside zone plays and the performance of his offensive line to improve their run game and try to control the clock this Sunday. It’s part of his overall philosophy (click image for video):

Coach Stenavich’s outside zone run philosophies include the “Trail Man” and the rules they must follow. Check out this clip of him explaining these rules and look for them to show up on film during their matchup on Sunday night.

Look for the Packers to try to control the clock and pick their shots when they need to in order to get their first win of the season.

Chicago Bears

The Chicago Bears were able to squeeze out a win in a huge rain storm against the San Francisco 49ers last week. They did this due to their run game with the help of running backs coach David Walker

Walker went the route of running back by committee with the likes of David Montgomery and Khalil Herbert. The Bears relied on their pin and pull game with their offensive lineman, which we can see Coach Walker talking about in the video below.

Coach Walker will also look to use his knowledge of run gap concepts to defeat Green Bay and dominate their front 7.

Here is a clip of Coach Walker explaining his knowledge in comparing counter vs. power run plays.

This Sunday night football matchup will test which NFC North team can control the game with their rushing attack.

Keep your eyes on Coach Stenavich for Green Bay and Coach Walker for Chicago to be able to implement their attacks.

Enjoy the game and keep learning!
