Keys to an Effective Pre Game Speech

Happy Game Day Coaches!
I know one thing that I always fretted over on Friday’s was exactly what I was going to say to my team before we took the field.
In talking with coaches, I know there are many different philosophies and ways to handle it. For example, Rick Jones, a nine-time state champ at Greenwood in Arkansas (he’s with Mizzou Football now), didn’t deliver a pregame speech. He rolled a TV in front of them, and they watched a quick highlight of themselves performing well.
Chuck Kyle, the 11-time state champion from Cleveland St. Ignatius, delivered passionate, fiery speeches that had his team charging out the door.
How you handle it is a very personal thing that must fit your style.
I do believe that there are some keys to how to do it right, and I put that together in a quick course that is available here:
Here are the topics I cover:
- Stereotypes - Hollywood vs. Reality
- Momentum is the Key
- Planning Throughout the Week
- Less is More
- Six Guidelines for Creating and Delivering Your Speech
Plus preparation and feedback, routine, and even using props.
Here’s the introductory video:
As I said, however, how you choose to send them out the door is uniquely you.
Good luck tonight!
